In 2005 KSDP became a UK registered charity number 1108288. The trustees are Stephanie’s parents, Beryl & Steve Lee and brother Andy Lee, and Mandy Talbott. Bridget Craig Robinson, who studied with Stephanie at SOAS, has been KSDP’s Country Director in Mae Hong Son since 2004. The Lee family regularly travel to Mae Hong Son to visit the KSDP projects with Beryl spending extended periods there each year working with KSDP and running various training courses.

Beryl’s initial career was in IT where she specialised in training but for the last thirty five years she has run her own commercial textile business specialising in retailing, training and hospitality. She has travelled worldwide and has much experience of providing hospitality for overseas students who are studying at universities in the UK. In addition to being Chairman of the Trustees of KSDP, she also volunteers with the charity Lattitudes Global Volunteering, the overseas youth volunteering organisation which placed Stephanie in Vietnam during her gap year in 1997.Beryl is the main fund raiser for the charity. She organises many events and travels throughout the UK speaking to schools and organisations about the Karenni and KSDP. She also frequently exhibits at specialist textile shows in the UK where she sells Karenni and S.E.Asian crafts.
Steve Lee
Steve spent his working life in avionics engineering with British Airways and took every opportunity to avail himself of the associated travel facilities which enabled the whole Lee family to see the world. Now retired, he spends much of his time restoring and maintaining the family home which is also the KSDP base in the UK. is also a very active member of his Rotary Club and volunteers as a recording engineer with Talking Books for the Blind. His engineering and practical skills are put to great use when visiting KSDP projects.Andy Lee
Andy has a BA in Fine Art from the Slade School of Art and a post-graduate diploma from the Royal Academy of Art. In 2003 he was Artist in Residence at Bangkok University School of Art and now makes art from his own studio in central London. In recent years, Andy has spent extended periods on the Thai/Burma border where he has become involved with several of the KSDP projects.Mandy Talbott
Mandy has a BSc in Applied Chemistry and works full time as a specialist technologist for Corus (formerly British Steel). She is also a magistrate, serving on the adult bench and family panel of the North Lincolnshire Bench. She is a Voluntary Regional Organiser for HOST, a charity which gives international students the opportunity to experience UK life by spending short breaks with a volunteer host family and her family personally host many students.Staff:
Bridget Craig Robinson – KSDP Country Director
Bridget has a degree in South East Asian Studies from the University of London (SOAS) and a Certificate in teaching English Language to Adults (CELTA). She has over five years experience of teaching English in four countries and spent six years as the Head Mistress of a Malay Primary and Middle School in Brunei.During her career she has worked in journalism, management and as an educational consultant for overseas students studying in the UK. Bridget is now the KSDP Country Director – Thailand. She is based for most of the year in Mae Hong Son, Thailand where she liaises with the Karenni and oversees the KSDP projects.
Marcus – KSDP Technical Director
Marcus has a BSc in Computer Science. He first came to volunteer for KSDP in 2004 before coming to work with us full-time. As well as maintaining the IT systems of all KSDP’s projects he also runs skills development courses, teaches IT and mathematics and assists the Country Director with the running of the KSDP Field Office.
